Boston in Transit proprietor Steven Beaucher gave a virtual tour of the exhibition “Getting Around Town: Four Centuries of Mapping Boston in Transit” at the Leventhal Map & Education Center at the Boston Public Library. The tour, was livestreamed and is now archived for viewing on the Leventhal’s YouTube channel.

Sept. 2023 - April 2024: Getting Around Town: Four Centuries of Mapping Boston in Transit
Steven Beaucher, author of Boston in Transit and antique map dealer over at our brother website www.WardMaps.com, is guest curating an expansive exhibit at the Leventhal Map and Education Center at the Boston Public Library. This dense and visually engaging exhibit will present maps and other navigation devices used by Bostonians over four centuries. Rare and seldom seen maps will be complimented by photographs, ephemera, guidebooks, and other transit artifacts. This exhibit is free and open to the public.

Announcement from the Leventhal: In September 2023, we’ll open our newest exhibition, Getting Around Town: Four Centuries of Mapping Boston in Transit. It will feature an extraordinary collection of transit maps and invite questions about how people have moved around the city in the past, present, and future. The guest curator for the exhibition is Steven Beaucher, the author of "Boston in Transit." Wednesdays in September 2023
Join us at the Leventhal Map & Education Center at the Boston Public Library for a tour of our new exhibition, Getting Around Town: Four Centuries of Mapping Boston in Transit, with guest curator Steven Beaucher! We'll take a trip through 400 years of transit history, explore over 100 maps, photographs, guides, and ephemera, and chat with Steven about the exhibition and his work more broadly. Format will be informal with questions and discussion welcome.

May 25, 2023: Lecture Hosted by Boston's West End Museum
Steven Beaucher will give a talk about Boston's four centuries of public transit history. He will give special attention to Boston's historic West End neighborhood. Steven will present engaging visuals culled from the Boston in Transit collection. Q&A, book signing, and book sale to follow the lecture. This is a paid event and open to the public.

March 25-26, 2023: Book Signing/Sale at Greenberg's Great Train Show
Boston in Transit author Steven Beaucher will personally be hosting at table the popular model train show. He'll have books on hand for sale and signing, until sold out, so come early on Saturday if you can. This is a casual event, a great time to ask Steven questions and have an informal conversation about Boston's public transportation and railroad history. This is a paid event and open to the public.
